Pristmatic Speech

For those whose voice decreases their quality of life, transgender vocal training is a safe, vocally hygienic, evidence-based option! The therapists of Prismatic Speech Services are culturally informed (many are trans themselves!) and provide client-centered care; they are highly invested in helping clients expand their vocal flexibility, stamina, and find a part of their voice that results in more euphoria and less dysphoria.

Microgrant Application

Find Your Light is run by Prismatic Speech Services and managed by the Guilford Green Foundation, a Greensboro-based non-profit which supports the local LGBTQ community. Funds raised will be used to partially cover trans vocal training for interested clients living below or close to the poverty line. Sessions are currently limited to fortnightly meetings to ensure widespread availability.

Inclusive and Respectful Pronouns:

1. Xe/Xem/Xyr: Used by non-binary people or those who don’t identify with the gender binary. Example: Xe is happy with xyr project.

2. Ze/Hir: Also used by non-binary or gender-fluid people. Example: Ze talked to hir family about hir identity.

3. Ey/Em/Eir: An inclusive alternative. Example: Ey shared their ideas and eir voice was heard.

4. Fae/Faer: Used in some queer communities. Example: Fae appreciates people respecting faer pronouns.

5. Hu: Varies according to preference. Example: Hu is organizing their event.

6. They/Them: Pronouns used in both plural and singular form for non-binary people. Example: They are very happy to be here.

7. He/Him: Traditional masculine pronouns. Example: He presented his project.

8. She/Her: Traditional feminine pronouns. Example: She is happy with her choice.
